Fewer joints, faster install, and nothing for hard water to corrode.

PEX is flexible tubing that snakes through walls and attics in long continuous runs, so a repipe has a fraction of the joints and takes a fraction of the time. Royal Flush Affordable Plumbing installs PEX with a central manifold where it helps, fewer wall openings, and a pressure test before anything closes.

Signs you need this

When PEX is the right choice.

These are the cases where PEX beats copper on both cost and result.

Finished walls

PEX bends around corners and pulls through cavities, so far less drywall is opened.

Hard or aggressive water

PEX does not corrode, scale or pinhole. Houston water cannot touch it.

Freeze resistance

PEX expands with ice and usually recovers. Copper and galvanized split.

Budget

Material is cheaper and the install is faster, so the quote is lower for the same fixture count.

A manifold system

Each fixture on its own line from a central manifold means one shutoff per fixture and steadier pressure.

Slab-era homes

Rerouting lines overhead in PEX is the standard fix for homes with failing under-slab copper.

What we actually do

Long runs, a manifold, and a pressure test.

We run PEX in continuous lengths from a manifold or from trunk lines in the attic, dropping to each fixture with as few fittings as the layout allows. Connections are expansion or crimp fittings made with the proper tool, never push-fit inside walls. Lines are supported and sleeved where they pass through framing, and kept out of sunlight.

The system is pressure tested before any opening is closed, and the openings are patched as part of the job.

  • Proper fittingsExpansion or crimp, made with the right tool, no push-fit buried in walls.
  • Pressure tested before closingEvery connection proven while it is still visible.
  • Fewer openingsPEX pulls through cavities, so the drywall work is a fraction of a copper job.
How we fix it

A PEX repipe, start to finish.

Most homes are switched over in a single day.

Got a quote for copper?

Ask us to quote PEX for the same house. For lines inside walls it is often the better answer as well as the cheaper one.

    First

    Walk the house

We trace the old lines, count fixtures, and plan the manifold location and the routes.

  2. 2
    Before any work

    A written quote

Materials, labor, openings and patching, all upfront.

  3. 3
    Repipe day

    Pull new, cut over, test

PEX is run while the old lines stay live, then the house is switched over and pressure tested.

  4. 4
    After

    Patch and clean up

Openings patched, house cleaned, water on.

What affects the price

What moves the price on a PEX repipe.

Quoted from a site walk. The variables:

Fixture count and footage

More fixtures and a bigger house mean more tubing and more drops.

Access

Attic routing is fastest. Two-story homes with lines in interior walls take longer.

Manifold or trunk and branch

A manifold adds material but gives each fixture its own shutoff.

Patching and paint

Fewer openings than copper, and the patching is in the quote.

The estimate is free

The site walk and quote cost nothing.

PEX Repiping FAQs

PEX repipe questions we hear every week.

Still not sure? Call and describe the problem. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a 20-minute fix or a job worth quoting.

Ask a plumber: 281-612-1015
01Is PEX as good as copper?
For lines inside walls, often better: no corrosion, fewer joints, freeze tolerance and a lower price. Copper still wins for exposed runs, next to the water heater, and where rodents or sunlight are a concern. We quote both and explain which fits each part of your house.
02Does PEX affect water taste?
Modern PEX is certified for drinking water. Some people notice a slight taste in the first days after install that flushes out. After that there is no difference.
03How long does PEX last?
It has been in use for decades in Europe and North America and is rated for a service life comparable to copper. The fittings and the installer matter more than the tubing.
04What is a manifold?
A central distribution block, usually near the water heater, with a dedicated line to each fixture. Each line has its own shutoff, so one bathroom can be isolated without turning off the house.
05Can you reroute my under-slab lines in PEX?
Yes. Rerouting overhead through the attic in PEX is the standard permanent fix for a home with failing copper under the slab. It avoids tunneling and leaves the slab alone.
