Faucet Repair Houston, TX

The drip you stopped hearing is still running.

Kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, tub and shower valves and outdoor hose bibs all wear the same way: a cartridge, seat or seal gives up and water goes where it should not. Royal Flush Affordable Plumbing repairs the part when the faucet is worth keeping and replaces the faucet when it is not, with the price for each agreed before we start.

Signs you need this

Six faucet faults and what is behind them.

A faucet has only a few moving parts. When one wears, the symptom tells us which.

Drips from the spout

The cartridge, ceramic disc or rubber seat is worn and will not close fully. The most common call, and a quick repair.

Water at the base or handle

O-rings or the body seal have failed. Water runs down the outside of the faucet and into the cabinet or countertop.

Low pressure at one faucet

A clogged aerator, a kinked supply line or scale in the cartridge from Houston hard water. If every faucet is low, that is a different problem.

A stiff or loose handle

Mineral buildup on the stem or a worn cartridge. Forcing it usually breaks the handle.

A shower that will not hold temperature

The pressure-balance or thermostatic cartridge in the wall valve has worn. Replaced without opening the tile when the valve body is sound.

An outdoor spigot that drips or will not shut

Hose bibs take a beating from freezes and hoses left on. Washer, stem or the whole bib replaced, with a frost-proof model where it makes sense.

Repair when it makes sense

A new cartridge, not a new faucet, when that is all it needs.

Most faucets from the brands sold in Houston have replaceable cartridges, and we carry the common ones. A faucet with a sound body gets the worn part and is back to new. A faucet that is corroded, no longer made, or leaking from a cracked body gets a replacement, and you hear that before we start.

Replacements include new supply lines and, where the old shutoff valves under the sink are seized, new shutoffs, so the next repair does not require turning off the whole house.

  • Right cartridge, first visitTell us the brand or send a photo and we bring the part.
  • Shutoffs checkedSeized angle stops are replaced while we are under the sink, not left for the next emergency.
  • Run and watchedHot and cold run, the handle cycled, the base and cabinet checked dry before we leave.
How we fix it

A faucet repair, start to finish.

Nearly every faucet job is a single visit.

Water spraying under the sink?

Turn both angle stops under the sink clockwise until they stop. If they will not turn, shut off the house at the main valve. Then call.

What affects the price

What moves the price on a faucet.

Agreed before the first turn of a wrench. These are the variables.

Cartridge or whole faucet

A cartridge, seat or seal is the smallest job. A replacement includes the new faucet, supply lines and removal of the old one.

The shutoff valves

Angle stops that are seized or weeping get replaced at the same time. It is cheaper now than as a separate call.

Faucet or wall valve

A shower or tub valve behind tile takes longer than a deck-mounted faucet, and sometimes needs the valve body replaced.

Access

A pedestal sink, a tight vanity or a kitchen island with a disposal and dishwasher in the way adds time.

The coupon

$25 off any plumbing service. Mention it when you book and show it at the time of service.

Faucet Repair FAQs

Faucet questions we hear every week.

Still not sure? Call and describe the problem. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a 20-minute fix or a job worth quoting.

Ask a plumber: 281-612-1015
01Is a dripping faucet worth repairing?
Almost always, if the faucet body is sound. A cartridge or seal costs far less than a new faucet, and a steady drip wastes a surprising amount of water over a month. We quote the repair and, if the faucet is corroded or discontinued, the replacement next to it.
02Can you fix a shower valve without opening the tile?
Usually. The cartridge comes out through the trim on the front. If the valve body itself has failed, the wall has to be opened, and we tell you that before we start so there are no surprises.
03Why does only one faucet have low pressure?
Most often the aerator or the cartridge is clogged with scale, which Houston water produces in quantity. Cleaning or replacing them fixes it. If every faucet in the house is low, the cause is the pressure regulator, the main line or the water heater.
04Do you repair outdoor faucets?
Yes. Hose bibs that drip, will not shut or snapped off are repaired or replaced, including frost-proof sillcocks for the freezes Houston gets every few winters.
05Will you install a faucet I bought?
Yes. Send the model and we bring the right supply lines and fittings. The price includes connecting it, replacing seized shutoffs if needed, and taking the old faucet away.
